Rajasthan Royals Wins IPL final

The Super Kings scored 5-163 off their 20 overs, but a match-winning half century by Yusuf Pathan (56 off 39 balls) which included four huge sixes helped put the Royals on the path to victory. There was a tense run chase with an unbeaten nine runs off as many balls as the Royals reached 7-164 to claim victory off the final ball. Watson has been one of the leading performers in the series and said winning the inaugural title was one of his greatest career highlights.

Pathan claimed the man of the match award, his half century and superb 3-22 with the ball helping restrict the Super Kings to a reasonable target after Warne won the toss and elected to field. Watson was named as the IPL player of the series after his superb 472 runs and 17 wickets throughout the tournament.

Australia's Shaun Marsh claimed the tournament's highest run score award for his superb efforts with the Kings XI Punjab who were knocked out in the semi-final by the Super Kings.
