The modern football has evolved from a game played in the streets and schools in the mid 1800's most widely played on earth game played in almost every town and village in the world, youth kicking on a balloon in the streets and local league teams for playing local honour large stadiums where several million pounds clubs draw up to 100000 fans each week.
Eleven players a side, with the aim of putting the ball in the opposition goal. The simplicity itself! Olympic football has few rules, however. As professionals are allowed to play there an age limit of players. There are 16 men's teams in Olympic competition and teams are limited to only three players over 23 years. Twelve women's teams are allowed in the competition, which has no age limit.
