Basketball is played by two teams, comprising five players and seven substitutes. The goal of the game for each team is to get the ball in the increase in baskets at each end of the court times more than the opposition, while preventing the opposition from scoring at the same time.
A game is composed of four periods, each lasting 10 minutes of actual playing time. If the results are tied to the end of the game, plus an additional five minutes periods are played until a winner is declared. There are strict limitations on how the ball can be moved by and among actors, including strict deadlines that make games fast, furious and physical.
