CONGRATULATIONS. I just want to ask a question. Do u think that the attitude of people and the govt. of India towards sports other than cricket would ever change? U can see that people donot care about the acheivement of the athletes in the paraolympics. There is no coverage of them either by the media. Even u cannot see the proper coverage of the badminton tourney held in china which our saina nehwal has won. Don't u feel that media plays equal part in popularising a game or not.

I am Kamalpreet from Amritsar my brother is also doing 10m air rifle shooting.He also want to do the same thing like you. His name is Karanbir and he 15 yrs old. In Amritsar there are no shooting range so my father has made one range for him in our house.It has one fan and my brother trains there for 5 hrs. He has no coach. My mother is coachin him by askin other players how they are training. I will be really reatfull to you if you could give me some training plans like what to do. Hope you will help me in this. My parents are not able to send him out of the city now because he is in his 10th class. Please help.

I am also a tennis player my mother has to manage both of us. I play at international level. please help.

My daughter is training to be an international and I never wanted her to read that statement by you because we are putting every resource into her sports career not to earn money but to rejoince in victory. Exclusion of Ms. L. Monika Devi from Olympic Game (2008) is really outrageous. The clearance for the weightlifter from Manipur, who was withdrawn from the Indian squad for the Beijing Olympics at the eleventh hour on 7th August 2008 on the false allegation that she reportedly tested positive for an anabolic steroid. After the doping report came out, Suresh Kalmadi comments that it saved India’s prestige as she was caught before she came to Beijing. Kalamadi also appreciates the officials for their great work for dumping Monika. He further annotates that Monika was not expected to win a medal in the Beijing Olympic
Game. Did Kalmadi think that by dumping Monika could win more medals?

In an interview on DD Sports Kalmadi on 9th August 2008 expresses his reality as a supreme god of Indian Olympic Association. When asked about the possible the chance to win medals he reply “Why, we have Sania, and,..." and fumbled for a whole minute struggling to remember any other names. At last he managed saying "...and other people". It shows how much he deserves Indian Sport players. Monika cried out that she is innocent and declare to shoot her if she is found guilty.

It is the dirty game of Indian mentality. Who knows how many Monikas are being rejected on grounds of favoritism or nepotism. Boxer Mr. Ng. Dingko Singh from is also a good example. Mr. Dingko name was dropped from the list of the Indian contingent to the Bangkok Asian Game in 1998 on the ground the government had not fund to send him to Bangkok Asian Game. However, he went to Bangkok to participate the Asian Game with “no cost from the Indian Government”. In that event, he was the first Indian sport player to win the gold medal in the Bangkok Asian Game, 1998.

Manipur Students' Association, Delhi, (MSAD) organized a sit-in-protest against the exclusion of Ms. L. Monika Devi at ITO Junction, New Delhi at 3 p.m. on 12 August 2008. Shown that Manipur will participate Olympic in its own Tag.

Corruption in Indian sport makes indivual and states worried: In support of Monica Devi who lost her Olympic contest after suppresion by IOA and SAI.

Congrats for Mr. Abhinav Bindra who himself finance since childhood in terms of Corers of Rupees for his sports that he can effort and win the world Medal by giving less awareness of IOA or SAI. This contribution should not goes to IOA or SAI because they are involving in small and personal matters with controversal things in this stage of world sports. Lets take an example of MONIKA DEVI who was pulled down from Flight by IOA and SAI to send someone in her place who she is not qualified for the tournament.Lets stop Negivitism and Deniel for sports in India.Why they send only few to the olypic why they can't make qualified sport persons in large numbers.

While the Monika incident calls for strident protests not just from Manipur but the entire Northeast, the fact that these contortions are now regular features and are clearly becoming the characteristics of a failed state, takes away much of the sting from the Friday strike. It takes a small incident to conflagrate the tinderbox of unfulfilled dreams and unarticulated angst that is eating at the vitals of the Manipuri society.
The chief minister said he suspected a “pre-planned motive” in excluding Monika Devi from the squad.
An angry Manipur today brushed aside India’s golden feat at Beijing Olympics with disdain and served a seven-day deadline to the Manmohan Singh government to tender an apology to the people of the state for the “injustice” done to weightlifter Monika Devi.

Failure to fulfil the ultimatum will “trigger an uprising”, beginning with a 24-hour general strike from 5am on August 19, a public meeting held at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex warned.

Ibobi Singh (Chieft MInester Manipur) accused the Sports Authority of India, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the dope testing laboratory of manipulation and “dirty politics”.

“The state government has decided to move the Centre to probe the issue by the CBI and see to it that the culprits are booked so that Indian sport can be saved from the clutches of dirty politics,” a fuming Ibobi Singh told reporters.

Monika Devi was withdrawn from the Indian squad to Beijing Olympics after she tested positive for steroids on August 4.

According to the established dope testing norms for international competitions, the report should be made available 48 to 72 hours before the sportsperson’s departure, which, in Monika Devi’s case would have been around 3.30am on August 6.

Ibobi Sigh asked why SAI leaked the report to the public on August 5 before informing the Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

The report on the dope test was sent by SAI to IWF only on August 6 at 12.30pm, half-a-day after Monika Devi’s scheduled departure for Beijing.

Ibobi Singh said people like IOA’s Suresh Kalmadi, and Randhir Singh sat on their decision only to say later that “it was too late to send her”.

Monika Devi today welcomed the chief minister’s push for a CBI probe, and said she was ready to undergo any test, including the ‘b’ samples.

The “b” sample test is an alternative one to confirm the findings of the first examination for consumption of banned substances.

She, too, alleged that SAI and IOA manipulated with her urine samples and declared her as having failed the dope test.

Earlier in the day, officials of the Manipur Olympic Association, leaders of student bodies and citizens’ organisations gathered at the Khuman Lampak sports complex in Imphal to chalk out strategies to seek justice for Monika Devi.

The Manipur Olympic Association, the Democratic Students Alliance, Manipur, the All Manipur Students Union and other citizens’ organisations convened a public meeting tomorrow at the sports complex to finalise their course of action.

The Manipur Olympic Association has not changed its stand of not sending teams from the state to national sporting events. The decision was conveyed to the IOA secretary general in a fax on Friday.

Sports complexes across the state today were converted into protest zones with officials, coaches and players holding sit-ins to protest the “shabby treatment” handed to Monika Devi.

While officials of state-level sporting organisations and students sat at the entrance to the main stadium, coaches and players of SAI sat at the gate of their complexes at Khuman Lampak and Takyelpat. There are also reports of similar demonstrations at the SAI complex at Utlou in Bishnupur district and at various playgrounds.

The Left Coordination Committee comprising the ruling CPI and CPM demanded impeachment of IOA president Suresh Kalmadi, dropping of sports minister M.S. Gill and action against sports secretary Sudhir Nath, holding them responsible for the “conspiracy” against Monika Devi. “We will fax a memorandum to the Prime Minister tomorrow seeking action against the trio. Left parties will raise the Monika Devi issue when the monsoon session of Parliament is convened,” L. Sotinkumar, convener of the committee, told mediapersons.

20 crores. Abhinav could be worth 20 crores say the experts! and who are these experts to give this miserable value to Abhinav for giving our country to this golden momento? Oblviously they have no idea to the amount of sweat, toil, tears and years of perseverence that goes in fighting against the unproductive indian sport for passion.

Abhinav's achievement is purely his own (and his family's).

We can celebrate and thank him for giving us this joy and honour but we have no right ever to say that it is ours (as Mr. Suresh kalmadi from the IOC said....'we' have won a gold).

How can you compare his achievement at the olympics with that of the criketers who have barely 6-7 nations in the world cup? (and check out their earnings....!)

Fools are those athletes who continue to practise, struggle, compete with competitors as well as federation officials in the indian sport purely for...the love of it (coz when you do something for free... its can be only for the love of it.)
