The Secret Life of the American teenager is an American television series 7th Heaven creator Brenda Hampton. The show made its debut on ABC Family on July 1, 2008. The teen drama focuses on the relationship between families and friends cope with the unexpected teenage pregnancy Amy character Juergens, represented by Shailene Woodley.

The Secret Life ranked number one with the network in the key demographic in its first slot on cable television. The show won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer TV during its first season.

A season will have a total of 23 episodes, divided into two rounds. The first 11 episodes term ends on September 9, 2008, and the second race is scheduled to begin in January 2009.
