The show is about four friends their late 20s to run a bar Irish lose, "Paddy the Pub" in South Philadelphia. The series deals with a variety of issues, including abortion, gun control, physical disabilities, racism, sexism, religion, the Israeli-Palestinian situation, terrorism, trans-sexuality, slavery, incest, sexual harassment in the fields of education, homelessness, rape cases, drug abuse, paedophilia, the proliferation of nuclear weapons in North Korea, child abuse, mental illness, gay rights, bulimia, sex and Nazism.
