Forbes published yesterday its annual list of the world's most powerful women.

At the top of the list for the third consecutive year is Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, ranked 28th, is the woman with the greatest public, Forbes reports.
Merkel behind Sheila C. Bair, chairwoman of the FDIC, in second place.

"Today" show co-anchor Meredith Vieira ranked 61st, just before CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric, the predecessor of Vieria on the "Today" show.
